In the easten sea of the Sanninag Bay Scenic Area lives schools of dolphins of various colors and sizes .The Chinese white dolphin belonging to the cetacean family and is a severely endangered aquatic mammal.It is the only one of China¡¯s cetaceans under first-class state protection.People refer to it as¡°the panda of the .¡±As the Chinese white dolphin is very sensitive to sea water quality,environmentalists regard it as a living benchmark of marine ecology. In the 1970s,some Chinese white dolphins were found in Sanniang Bay but they soon disappeared.Later,local people successfully tackled the problem and the bay¡¯s ecology recovered.The unpolluted environment and richness of small fish and shrimp food resources have attracted the dolphin back .according to local fishermen,the biggest sighting was in excess of 200 dolphin¡ªgray,white and pink. Sanniang Bay Scenic Area is fifty minutes by car from the center of Qinzhou.The major spots of the scenic area include the fishing village ,the beach,the Fubo Temple,and the Wulei Sea View Hotel,The soft,white beach is one of the best places to spend a holiday .The strange and graceful-looking rocks give rise to people¡¯s imaginations. We went to Fubo Temple Dock by electric car,which threaded its way along paths through woods of masson pine.The blue sky ,white clouds,red flowers,greentrees,sweet scents,and dulcet birdsong made us feel we were in Balit.The parking lot was packed with cars and headed straight for the dock,waiting for the boats to sail;children craned their necks in impatient anticipation. Once on the boat we saw fishing nets and learned that a ¡°husband and wife¡±pair of boats workstogether to net fish.A this we could hardy wait anylonger and asked the captain to sail right away.Once at sec ,we could see white jellyfish floating among the waves,which sent up beautiful misty spray as they crashed against the boats .After a while,one boat began casting its nets;a boatman threw our the net rope, which arced gracefully through the air to be caught by one of the crew on the ,her boat. Then we waited for the dolphins. The cry "Dolphin !" spread from the stern and we turned our eyes immediately, rying o see where they were. There were indeed two Chinese white dolphins beyond the net,with just their dorsal fins showing above the water. The captain told us they were still too far away to watch and that once the nets were brought in the dolphins would swim close.We only half-believed they would. The net came in and the dolphins really did swim up to us. Through the clear waters around, we could see these beautiful daughters of the sea briskly swimming, following the net. These dolphins are born performers. They chased each other, frolicking the sea, like a cavalcade. Some dolphins swam to the sides of the ships, stirring up the water, as if making intimate contact with the tourists. Some even posed for the tourists, provoking cheers and laughs. The schools of dolphin that frequent Sanniang Bay have become a new sight and a new point of tourist growth in the area. Sharp businessmen have seized their chance immediately and dozens of tourist boats have appeared overnight. Some of the owners are local and others from Beihai. One trip out on the sea costs 200 yuan, but the price is halved if you don't see any dolphins. Business is booming.
We took back a lot of flesh sea fish from the trip, and had a marvelous barbecue. There are dozens of fishing family hotels here; they are quite cheap, between 25 and 30 yuan per person. Drawing back the curtains to let in the sea breeze, we felt on top of the world. How fantastic to find such good accommodation in such a small village! The glow of the setting sun fell over the sea; on the shimmering waves, small fishing craft moored in the bay were dyed golden in its light. Sky and earth were silent in this beautiful sunset painting. The sounds of music spread from the pinewoods. It was the Bayin Ancient Music Band playing Night View in the Sanniang Bay. The band is made up of fishing people and the faces of the old performers glowed with health. They played all the various string,percussion and wind instruments well. They were followed by songs by the girls' militia.The girls' singing was so sweet, washing away all the weariness of the day's traveling.
