Baoji City

Located in the west part of the central Shanxi plain, it was called Chencang in ancient times and is the hometown of Emperor Yan, the ancestor of China. Reputedly, there was lucky omen that "stone chicken can crow”on the Chicken Peak Mountain, and hence the name was changed into Baoji. On and under the ground of Baoji are rich historical relics, among which the unearthed bronze wares of the Western Zhou Dynasty are so many and very beautiful, and enjoy good reputation. Therefore, Baoji is reputed as "the hometown of bronze wares".
