Yulin City

Located in the northern most part of Shanxi Province, it is an ancient city with a history of 1,000 years. In Paleolithic Period, Hetao people lived here. In ancient times, there were flourishing elms here, hence the name Yulin (elm wood). In the city are widely scattered courtyard houses; under the Zhenbei platform is Red Stone Gorge with the reputation of "Divine Mountain in the area north of the Great Wall"; and in the south of the city is Black Dragon Pond with a description likes this "Dragon hole with many treasures hidden in it". At present, the existing historical relics at Yulin include Blue Clouds Temple, Suspended Temple, Jin Gang Temple, Mei Flower Tower, Ten Thousand Buddhas Tower, Pu Hui Spring, etc.
