Introduction

Located at the middle reaches of the Yellow River, it is one of the cradles of Chinese civilization. In ancient times, it was situated west of Shanyuan, hence the name Shanxi". With a long history, abundant relics, natural scenes and cultural heritages, Shanxi Province is naturally reputed as ¡°a history museum" and is a place of many historical relics. Representative and integrated historical relics of every Chinese era can be found in Shanxi Province. Yan¡¯an Region in the north of Shanxi Province, is the most significant base of Chinese Revolution. At present, it has formed four tourist lines radiating to east, west, south and north with Xi'an as the center and cultural relics as characteristics.
