Moon Hill is located in Gaotian Township, 8 km south of Yangshuo Town. It consists of two peaks, the higher one in the front is known as Moon Hill. The hilltop features a running-through cave that measures more than 30 meters in width and height and takes the shape of a full moon. If viewing from a moving vehicle, as your position changes you will see the dramatic lunar cycle from a thin crescent to a bright white ball. Moon hill is also a unique rock- climbing site in Yangshuo.

How to get there
Take a Lipu-bound bus or a Gaotian-bound bus from Yangshuo Town and get off at Moon Hill. You can also get there by rental bike (5-10 yuan per day) or car.

Photography Tips
Moon Hill can be photographed in front lighting from far, moderate or close distance. A close shot can be taken by the roadside with a foreground while a distant image can be captured on Shangyue Road or in Licun Village (9-yuan entrance fee applies).
Or you can follow the scenic road at the foot of the hill to Water Cave, an alternative shooting spot.
