Chaoban Hill, or Tablet Hill, rises 190 metres above sea level by the Lijiang River in Xingping Town. The hill gets its name from its resemblance to the tablet held by officials when received in audience by the emperor. Its western cliff, high and steep, overhangs the Lijiang River. The reflection of the hill, one of the best views of the Lijiang River, appears different with the changing sunlight.

How to get there
Take a bus to Xingping Town and walk northward (in the direction of the Yellow Cloth Shoal) for one kilometer. Chaoban Hill is to be found about 300 metres alter Chaoban Junior Middle School. You can also take a three-wheel taxi ride, the fare: two yuan per person.

Photography Tips

Front lighting is preferable to photograph Chaoban Hill. When shooting, try to move as close to the riverbank as possible.
