Laozhai Hill is situated by the Lijiang River in Xingping Town, Yangshuo County. A footpath leads to the top that commands a stunning view of the picturesque mountains and rivers in Xingping. This is one of the best high angle view spots to photograph the Lijiang River and Xingping.

How to get there
Enter Rongtan Park next to Xingping Wharf and follow the stone steps uphill to the top.

Photography Tips
If you need to carry a lot of heavy photo gear, you may like to hire a porter. The owner of Wangjianglou Hotel at the foot of the hill known as Zhou Laosi can help you locate one. The charge for carry- ing the load to the hilltop is 20 yuan per person. In the early morning, shoot sunrise in the east or frontlit river mist in the west while in the late afternoon capture sunset in the west or rural scenery and the old town in the east.
