Xianggong Hill, Guilin Tours 
Xianggong Hill is located on the west bank of the Lijiang River between Huangbu Shoal and Nine-Horse Mural Hill. An ascent of the hill is rewarded with a bird's eye view of the Lijiang River winding through countless peaks. A good number of photographers
are attracted to Xianggong Hill by the light and shadow, sea of clouds and amazing morning glow at sunrise. A photographer from Guilin has won a bronze medal at the 10th international Photography Exhibition for his photographic works created here.
How to get there
Located within the boundaries of Xingping Town, Yangshuo County, Xianggong Hill is 28 km to Yangshuo and 57 km to Guilin. It can be reached by both land and water. To date this area is not serviced by bus routes yet. Get off a bus in Putao or Baisha and hire a vehicle to get you straight to the foot of the hill (15 km on Putao--Yangmeiling—Daping Village--Hebaoshan Village route and 18km on Baisha-- Guban Village Hebaoshan Village route). You can also hire a vehicle or drive from Yangshuo, turn right after passing Baisha and proceed in the direction of Guban until reaching the shooting spot. By the water route, you can reach the foot of the hill from Xingping
where a boat can be hired. You will pass by Huangbu Shoal on the way.
Photography Tips
Early morning is the time for shooting. For sunrise and cloud shots, you will have to get to the hilltop before the day breaks. It is an easy climb because the footpath has been repaired and maintained by the villagers. A charge of five yuan per person applies. If you need to carry a lot of heavy photo gear, you may like to hire a porter (15 yuan per person).

Use caution when going up the hill in the dark. Remember to carry a torch. If the weather is not favourable, you will have to wait for the right opportunity. A villager named Zhao Qiaoyang in the nearby Hebaoshan Village offers accommodation. A stan- dard room costs about 50 yuan. Abed in a shared room costs 15 yuan Bathroom shared.
