Located in Baishandi Village, Xingping Town, Yangshuo County, Lotus Cave is 32 km to the county town and 3.5 km to Xingping. The cave measures about 500 metres in total length, 25 metres at the widest part and 38 metres at its highest point. It contains spectacular limestone formations such as columns, stalagmites, drapes and cave pearls. The highlight is the dazzling display of 108 plate- shaped rocks in water. They are found in different sizes and bear a strong resemblance to water lily leaves. That is why the cave is so named.

How to get there
Lotus Cave is not serviced by bus routes at present. From Yangshuo you can ride a bus to Xingping (fare: 5.5 yuan) and then take a three-wheel taxi to the cave. A motor tricycle seats 4-6 passengers and costs about 15 yuan on a round trip. A mini van seating five costs about 40 yuan on the same basis. If driving, follow the road sign when reaching the Xingping Town junction.Lotus Cave is linked to Xingping by a dirt road, accessible by car.

Photography Tips
You will need a torch, a tripod, cable shutter release, and probably flash as well as some coloured filters or paper as auxiliary source of light and colour. The cave admission charge is 45 yuan.
