Shanshui Park is located in a beautiful setting at the eastern foot of Green Lotus Hill, Yangshuo Town, overlooking the scenic Lijiang River. There are plenty of cultural and historical attractions in the park, such as Yingjiang Pavilion, Jianshan Tower, Jianzhen Memorial, Forrest of Steles and Scenic Walk. As early as 1400 years ago this site was a tourist spot, visited in the following hundreds of years by Monk Jianzhen, Poet Cao Ye, Traveller Xu Xiake as well as the present day CPC and state leaders Zhou Enlai, Chen Yi and Deng Xiaoping. Shanshui Park features many famous inscriptions on its rock face. The outsized Chinese character dai written by Wang Yuanren, Yangshuo magistrate in the Qing Dynasty is a real eye catcher.
How to get there
Shanshui Park is located right in the county town and is just a short walk away from West Street. Admission: 35 yuan
Photography Tips
Both history and landscape are good subjects. Preferred time for shooting is morning (front lighting) and late afternoon (backlighting) in summer and autumn.
