Xialong Sees the Lijiang River winding its way through endless miles of strangely shaped mountains. On rainy days, the peaks are engulfed in mist and clouds while on clear days you will see the mirror-like water reflecting the green hills and blue sky. Xialong has been visited by numerous photography enthusiasts who left with countless perfect shots.
How to get there
You can reach there by boat either from Yangdi or Xingping. The price is negotiable depending on the number of people. Generally a boat from Xingping costs about 200 yuan.
Photography Tips
The subjects for shooting are the misty Lijiang River in spring, blue sky and white clouds in summer, morning mist and glow in autumn. A sand bank by the river is usually chosen as the shooting spot. Boatmen know where it is. You can also find your own positions according to your need.
For Your Information
There are hiker's lodges in Xialong. Photographers may choose to stay there for more shooting opportunities. A standard room costs about 50 yuan.
