Located under the Yunji mountain which belongs to scenic spot of the moon hill in the Yangshuo. It was built in the opening Tang dynasty (713A.D.). It's the one of the earliest ancient temple, experienced Song and Ming and Qing dynasty, burining incense has been lasting about 1200 years. According to the historical date, when the famous hierarch Jianzhen failed to cross to Japan in Tang dynasty, he returned to Yangzhou from Hainan Island, he was from Wuzhou to Guilin by ship and stayed in there during one year. During this period, Jianzhen often gave lectures in this temple. Jianshan Temple was called the biggest temple of Guangxi, because of its large scale, it copied the Buddhism building of Tang. The name of temple was written by the famous calligrapher Zhaopuchu who had already passed away. The abbot of temple was Benru rabbi who had studied lectures in three university, he was the prentice of famous monk Miaozhen.
